Privacy

You are about to hand us your parent’s phone number and, if all goes well, some of the most personal stories in your family. Here is exactly what we do with that, in plain terms.

Who we are

StorySitting is operated by AMF LLC, Wilkinson, Indiana, USA. Contact: adam@onesmallprompt.com.

What we collect

• From you: your name, email address, your relationship to the storyteller, and your confirmation that you can authorize the call.
• About the storyteller: the name they go by, their phone number, good times to call, and the topics you’d like captured.
• From the calls: an audio recording and a written transcript of each interview — created only after they have agreed out loud to be recorded.
• Payment: handled by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and a token that lets us charge the agreed amounts. We never receive or store your card number.
• Basic web logs (IP address, page, timestamp) kept for security and to know whether the site is working. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no cookies for marketing.

What we do with it

We use it to make the calls and produce your chapters. That is the whole purpose. Specifically:

• The storyteller’s name, phone number and topics are given to our AI interviewer so she can call them and hold a relevant conversation.
• Recordings and transcripts are used to write the chapters, and are re-read by a human (that’s me) while editing.
• Your email is used to tell you what happened on the calls and to deliver your chapters.

We do not sell your data or your family’s stories. We do not publish them. We do not use your recordings, transcripts or chapters to train AI models. We don’t send you marketing email you didn’t ask for.

Who else is involved

We use a small number of service providers to operate, and they see only what they need to:

• Stripe — payments.
• A telephony and voice-AI provider — places the calls and produces the recording and transcript.
• An AI language-model provider — used in drafting chapters from the transcript. We use providers under terms that do not permit training on our data.
• Google Workspace — our email.

That’s it. No data brokers, no ad networks.

Recording, and the storyteller’s own rights

We ask the storyteller for spoken permission to record, on the call, before recording an interview. If they say no, we do not record and we stop. Some US states require every party to consent to a recording; our practice is to get that spoken consent everywhere, regardless of state.

The storyteller has the same rights over their material that you do. If they contact us and ask us to stop calling, or to delete their recordings, we will honor their request even if you are the one who paid. We think that’s the only defensible way to run this.

How long we keep things

• Recordings and transcripts: kept while we’re producing your book, and afterwards so you can ask for another copy — deleted on request at any time.
• Your chapters: kept so we can re-send them to you.
• Order and payment records: kept as long as required for tax and accounting.
• Do-not-call requests: kept permanently — that is the only way to guarantee we never call someone again.

Deleting everything

Email adam@onesmallprompt.com and ask. We will delete the recordings, transcripts and chapters and confirm when it’s done. We’ll keep only the minimum order record we’re legally required to keep, plus any do-not-call entry.

You can also ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, or to correct it.

Children

This service is for adults. It isn’t intended for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If a change is significant and affects an order in progress, we’ll email you rather than quietly editing this page.
