StorySitting Guided Family Story Sessions

About

Why I built StorySitting.

Families keep saying they should ask, record, gather, organize, and preserve the story someday. StorySitting exists because someday is usually where family stories disappear.

A guided StorySitting interview scene.
StorySitting is built around a simple belief: the family should not need one person to become the entire archivist, interviewer, writer, and producer.

Founder note

StorySitting was built from the realization that families often have the stories, photos, voices, and questions already around them, but no one has a practical way to gather everything and finish it. The goal is not to create a generic memory app. The goal is to help a real family finally complete the story project they keep postponing.

Early StorySitting projects are founder-led. That means the process is still being refined, but it also means each family gets careful human attention instead of a fully automated system pretending to understand the story.

What matters

The story should feel true. The family should understand what they are getting. The private material should be handled carefully. The final product should be finished enough that the family can actually keep, print, share, and revisit it.
